Meet The Team
Jess Beange
Jess is an emerging writer-director, actress and poet with a background in broadcast journalism and communications.
Jess grew up immersed in theatre, music and the arts: writing plays, acting and creating.
Her current writing projects include a children's book series, arthouse/drama feature Leona, TV series Victims of Crime, a mythic play and a sketch comedy series.
Jess recently completed a Directing Intensive with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and Screen Canberra's Accellerator TV Pod.
A single mother, she came up with the idea for Set Ready Film in looking for accessible ways to meet other emerging directors and develop her practice.
Jess holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism - Broadcast) from Charles Sturt University and is a member of the Australian Writers' Guild (AWG), Australian Directors' Guild (ADG) and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
Victoria (Fi) Hopkins
Fi brings a wealth of expertise in acting for camera, screen workshop facilitation, directing and costume design.
Fi is both an extraordinarily talented and accomplished Costume Designer and Actor; with both parallel talents taking her around the world, with over 14 years in the UK and Europe. Fi holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Costume Production from London's International Drama School of Theatre and Performance and an MA Acting- Classical Masters programme from the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London under Dr Rob Clare.
She spent time in Los Angeles studying screen acting under international acting coach Lisa Pescia and is currently training under the mentorship of Ivana Chubbuck Studios with Chris Holder.
The Hopkins Technique centers around the development of character from within, focusing on script analysis, on-set skills and techniques.
Sebastian Chan
Sebastian is a prolific and ambitious writer/producer from the Australian Capital Territory. Sebastian graduated from the University of Canberra in 2015 with a Bachelor of Media Arts & Production.
He has since gone on to earn an Advanced Diploma in Producing (Story, Audience, Finance) from AFTRS. An experienced filmmaker,
Sebastian has a growing list of accomplishments and accolades including his award-winning short Bus Trip (Focus on Ability Festival 2018), the ACT's first IGTV series The Red Thread (Where You Are Festival) and most recently winner of the ABC i-view 'Best Pitch' award for his project The Family at the 2020 Melbourne Webfest.
Sebastian is Community Manager at Film Plus.
